FORT EUSTIS VIRGINIA
- TRANSPORTATION MUSEUM
The U.S. Army Transportation Corps
Museum consists of a 50,000 square foot main museum and four outdoor parks. On
the left side when facing the entrance is a large covered area in which are
interesting historical railroad equipments from engines to caboose and several
other items. On the right side are a covered area full of Transportation motor
vehicles from jeep to 18 wheel heavy trucks, then an open area with marine
equipment such as tug boat, and landing craft, then another covered section
with Army aviation rotary and fixed wing aircraft. The indoor exhibits describe
Army transport from the Revolutionary war to Afghanistan.
There are far too many excellent exhibits to photograph them all. In addition
there are dozens of informative plaques by each exhibit and there is a movie
theater showing films about Army transportation in action.
