KAM'YANETS - FROM POLISH SIDE

Here we are standing on the ridge in the Polish suburb. The Smotrich is far below. On the crest in the old town is the minaret of the Church of St Peter and Paul (9 on the city plan) and the tower of the city hall behind it. Below, in the trees is the tent roof of the Polish gate tower. We will drive down to the river, cross on the old bridge and then drive past the gate and up to the Stephan Bathory gate off the photo to the left of the church.
