POLISH GATE TOWER

As one approaches the city via the old road up from the river, one passes the remains of the Polish gate, that once controlled the level of the river as well as provided entry into the city. The road continues up the hill to the Bathory gate, off this picture to the left side, beyond the minaret of the Church of St Peter and Paul, seen here on the crest.
