Yeliseev's delicatessen on the corner of Nevski Prospect and Malaya Sadovaya street, opposite Ostrovski square. This, like the Singer Building, is a fine example of Style-Moderne architecture. The Yeliseev dynasty began with a peasant wine merchant in 1813 and within 2 generations owned a variety of food establishements. The building was designed by Gavriil Baranovskii in 1901. The interior features stained glass windows, marbel counters and crystal chandeliers. |
