Monplaisir small cottage palace - one of Peter's favorite places in which he continued to live and entertain after the grand palace was built- built before the grand palace. It was designed by Johann Braustein in 1714 to Peter's ideas about Dutch architecture. It contains Peter's personal art collection and was decorated with black, gold and red lacquered panels - destroyed by Germans and now replaced with copies. |
