This map from the West Point Atlas depicts
the situation at Borodino about 0930. By now Eugene has shifted most of his
troops south of the stream and is preparing to assault the Rayevski bastion.
The three fletches that anchor the left center of the Russian line have changed
hands repeatedly. Junot's corps has been shifted south to assist in the assault
while the cavalry of Montbrun has moved north to cover the wide gap in the
French line between Eugene and Ney. The Russians are rushing Bagavout II Corps
and the guard ( V Corps) south to bolster Bagration's sagging lines. Platov and
Uvarov are preparing their cavalry raid against the French left rear. When Ney
finally takes the fletches (with Davout's two divisions also engaged), Junot's
corps is shifted further south to link with Ponyatovski. The map indicates
Ponyatovski's corps is missing Dombrovski's division. It is far to the west
guarding the LOC.
