the battle situation at about 9:30. O nthe French left Eugene has taken
Borodino but not been able to cross the burned bridge there. He is shifting
Grouchy's cavalry south across the Kolotcha stream. In the center Morand is
confronting the Rayevski redoubt. The main battle is continuing on the French
right where Ney and Davout are assaulting the Russian fletches. On the far
right flank Ponyatovski is slowly pushing against Tutchkov I at Ulitsa. The
Russians are rushing two corps from their unengaged right wing south to go into
line. Platov and Uvarov are preparing their cavalry raid against the French
left rear.
