This map from the West Point Atlas provides
more detail. Here on 25 November Chichagov has been lured south leaving only
pickets to cover the critical section of the Berezhina. The French are rushing
toward Studenka where their engineers controlled by Eble and Chasseloup are
already tearing down buildings to construct two tressle bridges in the near
freezing water, while Wittgenstein moves cautiously toward Studenka and Borisov
and Kutuzov lags behind off map to the southeast. Oudinot is at Borisov faking
Chichagov into shifting troops south instead of north. Ney follows closely.
Then come Junot, Victor, Eugene and Davout..
