The Muscovite and Russian imperial government faced enemies on all sides.
Frequently it was forced to conduct warfare simultaneously on multiple fronts.
At the same time its neighbors also were frequently at war with each other in a
continually shifting series of wars and raids. So far we have researched
multiple sources to collect information on who was fighting whom on a yearly
basis between about 1450 and 1800. We are continuing to research the period
between 900 and 1450 and will provide information as soon as possible.
Meanwhile here are four charts. In each chart each nation or group such as
cossacks or Tatar hordes is color coded. Each group is shown down the side and
each year appears across the top. By comparing colors one can easily determine
who was fighting whom each year.
