Map dated 1902 of the eastern part of downtown St Petersburg. The Alexander Nevski lavra is at bottom right against the river and north of the Obvodny canal. The Smolny is on the right side along the river. The green square just west (left) of Smolny is the Tavride garden (now Childrens park) and the Tavride palace is the building at the upper right corner of the park. The Preobrazhenski Regimental Cathedral is the small green circle left of Tavride near the left edge of the picture.
