The Hall of Knights. This was built for Paul
after he was elected Grand Master of the Order of St John of Malta in 1798.
This was after they fled from Malta when Napoleon conquered it on way to Egypt.
Since Paul was Orthodox and not Catholic the Pope didn't recognize his
election. Nevertheless he used this hall for functions related to his
election. It has lapis lazuli decoratoins and classical statues. Unfortunately
it wasn't lighted well and the flash didn't carry to the far end of the long
hall. This section is a wing that connects the throne room with the chapel.
