30 pud, 543 mm siege mortar, barrel of bronze, length 131 cm. weight 1913 kg, made in 1605 by Pronei Fedorov under direction of master Andrey Chokhov during the reign of the False Dmitrii I (thus it was called the 'self-proclaimed mortar'. In 1703 Peter I ordered the Moscow arsenal to protect this weapon as a historical item. By this ukase Peter began the artillery museum collection. |
