This brief essay notes that efforts by
environmental (climate changing) supporters who gain political power, for
instance, in state legislatures that then pass drastic laws demanding that the
energy producers in the state achieve some significant elimination of 'green
house gas creators' by a not distant future then face the power of local people
to defeat these efforts by mobilizing local political forces. As a specific
example, the author describes how residents in San Bernardino County in
California have blocked construction of solar and wind energy farms in the
county. The local utility and state propose to construct such huge farms that
the locals refuse to accept.
