Bell Model 47D, OH-13E Sioux, Korean war, rotor 35', length 27' - 4", speed 100 mph., The first model 47 flew in spring 1943. The 47D was thee first Bell helicopter mass produced for military use beginning in 1947 in H-13D and H-13E models of which 490 were built. From the 47D were developed the 47G and 47 J Ranger. Hundreds of the later models were built. Agusta in Italy built more under license. |
