INTRODUCTION

The following pages contain a listing of the miscellaneous records (M.L.'s) of the Adjutant General's Office relating to operations and activities during Worlds War II in the European Theater of Operations. These records form part of a series of records identified as "Narrative Reports and Supporting Documents Relating to Operations and Activities of the Army During World War II and the Postwar Period ('Operations Report File'), 194048." The series is from the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1917- (Record Group 407) and they were declassified under Declassification Review Project 735017.

Although most of the records pertain to operations and activities in Belgium, Holland, France, Germany, and to the invasion plans for France, some records relate to activities in Italy, Austria, and the United Kingdom. Among the units to which the records pertain, are: the 1st Canadian Army; the 1st French Army; the 2nd French Armored Division; the V, VII, and XIX Corps; the 12th and 21st Army Groups; and the 64th Fighter Wing. The records provide information on such operations and activities as breaching the Siegfried Line; crossing the Rhine; Operations Cobra, Neptune, and Overlord; and the occupation of Germany. The records include interviews, interrogations, reports, narratives, orders, bulletins, intelligence summaries, lists, maps, overlays, photographs, booklets, organization charts, correspondence, and memorandums.

Note (*) indicate the records are missing although the folder for them is contained in the box.
