This is the third row of Plate 1 for the article on the history of Uniforms in 11th edition of Encyclopedia Britannica. This depeicts thedevelopment of uniforms in the first half of the 19th century. (See text) The Austrian Jager should be a darker grey and the coat of the Ausrtrian Gyulai Regiment officer should be light grey. The US general officer should be dark blue.
