View from British lines as they approached redoubt. This area was held by skirmishers -sharpshooters. The Alma River is behind us. The main Russian units were standing on either side of the redoubt and further to the right of the photo where the road crossed the ridge line. The small white memorial at the left side of the redoubt is to the British fusiliers. The large memorial is to the Russians
