SUDAK MAP

This Russian map shows the relationship of Sudak to Kaffa. Also it shows the mountains quite well. The Tatar capital was in the center of the map, inland from the coast at Starii Krim. The Genoese got along with the Crimean Tatars reasonably well, with gifts and tributes. But when the Ottoman Turks came in 1475 they destroyed the Genoese and turned the Tatars into clients.
