4. Commander and staff make estimate of situation

Does the following:
- makes arrangements to complete the available information on the enemy
- issue instructions to recon units on combat readiness,
- coordinate recon tasks with other elements
- prepare suggestions to the division commander on the use of recon groups at
division and regiment
|
5. Division commander makes the decision and issues missions.
|

6. Staff conducts planning
|
Staff participates and contributes
- completes the recon plan and annexes
- issues instructions on recon
|
